I am Grace Meredith, 19 years old and studying Drama at Bath Spa University. This blog is all about my love for musical theatre and how it is developing. When I was little I was surrounded by the world of theatre due to the fact my mum was part of a drama society and her being a huge fan of musicals.
I studied at Broadway School Of Performing Arts for 5 years and been taught by professional tutors from across the country. I was given many different musical theatre opportunities, from tours to album recordings and lead roles. My favourite experience at the school was playing the lead role in a new musical 'Bluebird.'
The musical was about a woman named Roberta in World War 2 who's husband Pete had left her and her child at home so he could fight in the war. Roberta is a nurse and befriends her patient Ben, the love story blossoms as Pete becomes ever more in the past and she begins to fall in love with Ben. The musical has plenty of twists and turns and features so exquisite songs. The musical has now been taken on by a professional cast who have recreated the musical as a soundtrack on an album. It feeatures the likes of Ramin Karimloo, the orignal Phantom in 'Love Never Dies' and Sarah Lark, who featured on the Andrew Llyod Webber show 'I'd do Anything.' The c.d has become very popular due to the talented cast. I had the opportunity to meet Sarah and Ramin and from this day I have wanted a career in musical theatre
